Our New Tech: Real-Time Tracking

When parents trust us with their children's transportation, the ability to see exactly where their child is at any moment isn't a luxury. It's a necessity. That's why we've invested heavily in rebuilding our real-time tracking system from the ground up. Here's what's new and why it matters.

Sub-Second Location Updates

Our previous system updated vehicle locations every 15 seconds. The new platform delivers updates in under one second, using a combination of GPS, cellular triangulation, and Wi-Fi positioning. For parents watching the map, the vehicle moves smoothly and in real-time rather than jumping between positions.

Predictive ETA Engine

We've built a machine learning model trained on millions of historical trips across our network. Instead of simple distance-based estimates, our new ETA engine factors in current traffic conditions, time of day, school zone schedules, weather, and even historical pickup duration at each stop. The result: ETAs that are accurate to within 90 seconds for 95% of trips.

Geofence Alerts

Guardians can now set up custom geofence zones around schools, homes, therapy centers, or any location. When a vehicle enters or exits these zones, the guardian receives an instant push notification. This is especially valuable for parents of students in multi-stop programs who need to know exactly when their child arrives at each destination.

Route Deviation Detection

Our system continuously compares the vehicle's actual path against its planned route. If a driver deviates more than 200 meters from the expected path, the Guardian Response Center is automatically alerted and the guardian receives an in-app notification. Most deviations are benign (construction, detours), but this layer of monitoring ensures nothing goes unnoticed.

What's Next

This is just the beginning. Over the next two quarters, we'll be rolling out trip replay (so guardians can review completed trips), multi-child dashboard views, and integration with popular calendar apps so pickup and dropoff times automatically sync to your schedule.
